Custom Fees and Import Duties

Do I need to pay customs fees or import duties on my order?
No, if you're ordering from World of Books and your delivery address is within the European Union, all customs fees and import duties are fully covered. There are no surprise charges when your order arrives.

Why won't I be charged customs fees?
All orders shipped into the EU from World of Books are sent on a Delivery Duty Paid (DDP) basis. This means we collect VAT and Duty charges at checkout and pay these on your behalf. You should never be asked to pay customs fees at the door or before your parcel is released for delivery.

Is the customs fee included in what I pay at checkout?
Yes. The cost of any applicable customs duties and import fees is factored into the price you see at checkout. There are no hidden fees added afterwards — what you pay is what you pay.

I've seen news about new EU import charges. Will these affect my order?
No. Regardless of any changes to EU import regulations, our DDP shipping arrangement means we handle all associated costs. Your order experience remains the same, no extra charges, no delays waiting for duty payment.

What if I'm charged at the door anyway?
This should not happen with any World of Books order. If you are unexpectedly asked to pay a customs or import fee for an order placed with us, please contact our customer support team by using Sherlock we will resolve it for you.
